Week 11 NFL Weekend recap

Week 11 Sunday Showdowns: Overtime Thrillers, Record Breakers, and a Six-TD Nuclear Game

If Week 11 had one message, it was this: no lead is safe, no script is predictable, and absolutely nobody should ever bench Josh Allen again. From Madrid overtime madness to Bryce Young rewriting franchise history, Sunday gave us chaos, comebacks, and a few fantasy meltdowns you probably don’t want to talk about today.

Below is your full Hail Mary Herald breakdown of every game, every star performance, and every moment that sent the league into a frenzy.

Washington Commanders @ Miami Dolphins — Dolphins 16, Commanders 13 (OT)

The NFL’s first game in Spain needed overtime, and Miami survived on a defensive dagger.

Washington surprisingly stayed afloat with Marcus Mariota and a Deebo Samuel–centric offense, but Jack Jones’ interception on the first play of OT flipped the entire arena. De’Von Achane took it from there, polishing off his 165 all-purpose yard day and setting up the walk-off field goal.

Top Performers

  • De’Von Achane, MIA: 165 total yards, unstoppable in space
  • Marcus Mariota, WSH: 20/30, 213 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
  • Deebo Samuel, WSH: 7/74/1
  • Jack Jones, MIA: OT-winning interception

Hail Mary Verdict: Miami escapes, but Washington proved it can stay competitive with a backup QB and a simplified scheme.

Los Angeles Chargers @ Jacksonville Jaguars — Jaguars 35, Chargers 6

This one got ugly fast. Jacksonville came out swinging after last week’s humiliation, scoring on the ground with Bhayshul Tuten and Travis Etienne before the Chargers even settled in.

Justin Herbert never got a rhythm, the offensive line leaked constantly, and Jacksonville’s defense smothered the Bolts from start to finish.

Top Performers

  • Travis Etienne, JAX: Rushing TD
  • Bhayshul Tuten, JAX: Rushing TD
  • Jags Defense: 6 points allowed, relentless pressure

Hail Mary Verdict: The Chargers are collapsing. Jacksonville is very much not.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Buffalo Bills — Bills 44, Buccaneers 32

This was the Josh Allen Show, and everybody else was just paying for tickets.

Allen delivered the fantasy performance of the year so far: 3 passing touchdowns and 3 rushing touchdowns, pulling Buffalo out of trouble multiple times in a back-and-forth second half. Tampa ran for 202 yards as a team, but you can’t outrun a quarterback playing Madden on Rookie Mode.

Top Performers

  • Josh Allen, BUF: 6 total touchdowns (!!!)
  • Bucs Backfield: 202 team rushing yards
  • Bills Offense: Fully unlocked again

Hail Mary Verdict: Allen put the entire league on notice. Tampa put up a fight, but nobody survives Super Saiyan Josh.

Chicago Bears @ Minnesota Vikings — Bears 19, Vikings 17

The Bears won this one the way they’ve quietly won multiple times this year: turnovers, special teams, and just enough functional offense.

A 56-yard Devin Duvernay kickoff return sparked the decisive last-minute drive, and Cairo Santos did the rest.

Top Performers

  • Chicago ST: Huge momentum-shifting return
  • Bears Defense: Multiple key takeaways
  • Cairo Santos: Game-winner at the buzzer

Hail Mary Verdict: Chicago isn’t pretty, but they are annoyingly effective when they control pace and field position.

Green Bay Packers @ New York Giants — Packers 27, Giants 20

Jordan Love briefly exited with a shoulder scare… and then returned like a movie hero to throw two touchdowns, including a go-ahead strike to his new favorite target, Christian Watson.

Top Performers

  • Jordan Love, GB: 2 TDs after injury scare
  • Christian Watson, GB: 2 TDs, including the game-winner

Hail Mary Verdict: Green Bay’s young QB is tough as steel. The Giants again find creative ways to lose.

Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans — Texans 16, Titans 13

A comeback win behind Davis Mills, who played like a man who really doesn’t want to go back to holding a clipboard.

Top Performers

  • Davis Mills, HOU: 274 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT
  • Nico Collins, HOU: 9/92/1
  • Matthew Wright: Game-winning FG as time expired

Hail Mary Verdict: Houston stays alive because Mills played safe, smart, and aggressive when it counted.

Carolina Panthers @ Atlanta Falcons — Panthers 30, Falcons 27 (OT)

Bryce Young’s breakout game.
Not a good game. Not a solid game.
A franchise-record 448 passing yards game.

Playing through an ankle scare, Young detonated Atlanta’s secondary and hit Tommy Tremble for a 54-yard OT bomb that set up the winner.

Top Performers

  • Bryce Young, CAR: 448 yards, 3 TDs
  • Tommy Tremble, CAR: OT deep shot that sealed it
  • Carolina Offense: Shockingly explosive

Hail Mary Verdict: If this is the Bryce Young the Panthers get going forward, the rebuild suddenly looks way brighter.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Pittsburgh Steelers — Steelers 34, Bengals 12

Pittsburgh dominated, but it came at a cost: Aaron Rodgers left with a wrist injury, and the Steelers had to finish with Mason Rudolph.

Didn’t matter. Kenneth Gainwell caught touchdowns from both QBs, and the defense scored two more to crush Cincinnati.

Top Performers

  • Kenneth Gainwell, PIT: 2 receiving TDs
  • Steelers Defense: Pick-six + fumble-return TD
  • Joe Flacco, CIN: One early TD, then nothing

Hail Mary Verdict: Pittsburgh rolls, but Rodgers’ injury casts a very real cloud over their next month.

San Francisco 49ers @ Arizona Cardinals — 49ers 31, Cardinals 20

A very on-brand Niners win: Purdy efficient, McCaffrey unstoppable, defense solid.
But the wild stat belongs to Arizona.

Jacoby Brissett completed 24 passes in a row, believed to be a new NFL record. He finished with 452 yards on 57 attempts, feeding Michael Wilson (15/185) like a man possessed.

Top Performers

  • Christian McCaffrey, SF: 3 total TDs
  • Brock Purdy, SF: 3 TDs, 0 turnovers
  • Jacoby Brissett, ARI: 452 yards, record-setting streak
  • Michael Wilson, ARI: 15 catches, 185 yards

Hail Mary Verdict: San Francisco wins, but Arizona put up one of the most absurd stat lines of the season.

Seattle Seahawks @ Los Angeles Rams — Rams 21, Seahawks 19

The Rams defense stole the show with four interceptions, including two by rookie safety Kamren Kinchens. Seattle still had a last-second 55-yard field goal attempt to win it… and missed.

Top Performers

  • Kamren Kinchens, LAR: 2 INTs
  • Matthew Stafford, LAR: 2 TD passes
  • Kenneth Walker III, SEA: Near 100 rushing yards

Hail Mary Verdict: Rams survive. Seattle has a major turnover problem.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Denver Broncos — Broncos 22, Chiefs 19

Bo Nix might actually be built from ice.

He hit two huge late passes, including a 32-yard strike to Troy Franklin in the final minute to set up Will Lutz’s walk-off winner.

Kansas City’s offense? Still stuck in molasses.

Top Performers

  • Bo Nix, DEN: Multiple clutch throws
  • Troy Franklin, DEN: Game-winning drive hero
  • Will Lutz, DEN: Walk-off FG
  • Mahomes & Chiefs Offense: Struggles continue

Hail Mary Verdict: Denver owns the AFC West right now. Yes, really.

Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns — Ravens 23, Browns 16

The Browns’ defense got Lamar twice, but it didn’t matter.
Derrick Henry smashed for 103 yards and a TD, Zay Flowers stretched the field, and Mark Andrews delivered the final dagger on a trick-play look from a fake tush push.

Top Performers

  • Derrick Henry, BAL: 103 yards, 1 TD
  • Lamar Jackson: Ugly line, but enough to win
  • Mark Andrews: Late TD on a beautiful misdirection design
  • Quinshon Judkins, CLE: 17 carries, 59 yards

Hail Mary Verdict: Baltimore grinds out a road win the hard way.

Final Whistle: Week 11 Was Pure Football Chaos

This was one of the most entertaining Sundays of the season.
We got:

  • A six-touchdown masterpiece,
  • Two overtime games,
  • A rookie QB setting franchise records,
  • A backup QB dropping 452 yards,
  • And a division-shifting win in Denver.
